Omaha Retreat is a coastal holiday home conceived as a place of calm, privacy, and sensory richness. Designed to support both family life and generous hosting, the interiors are shaped by a material narrative inspired by water slowly sculpting stone. The result is a home that feels grounded, restorative, and deeply connected to its coastal setting.
The homes material finishes selection plays a central role in the design approach. Creamy travertine is used in varying textures and finishes, introducing softness, movement, and quiet variation throughout the interior architecture. Curved forms and layered surfaces echo waters natural effect on surfaces, creating spaces that feel shaped over time rather than assembled. This material language establishes continuity across the home while allowing each room to retain its own identity.

Bathrooms are treated as destinations within the house. The primary ensuite is sculptural and immersive, while five individually detailed guest bathrooms, including a dedicated steam room, are designed to support daily ritual and retreat. Proportion, tactility, and restraint guide each space, resulting in environments that feel calm, resolved, and enduring. This considered approach was recognised with the HOME Magazine Bathroom of the Year Award in 2025.

Designed for a home that regularly hosts family and friends, privacy was carefully considered without fragmenting the overall plan. Guest suites are conceived as individual retreats, each with thoughtfully planned double-entry ensuites that allow spaces to function independently while remaining connected to the wider home. This approach creates a sense of generosity and ease, ensuring guests feel both comfortable and discreetly accommodated.
